Sydelle Willow Smith (SA), 2012 AIR residency winner, is a freelance photographer/filmmaker born in Johannesburg and based in Cape Town, South Africa. She has traveled widely through the African continent as a photographer/filmmaker.
Sydelle has a background in social Anthropology (focusing on Visual Anthropology) with an undergraduate in Video Production focusing on Cinematography. Her work has been published in numerous local and international publications focussing on memory, place, home-making, and migration.
